Title: This type of map, or that one.
Post by: cowz with gunz on December 16, 2009, 01:19:07 AM
Mappers need ideas, Ideas call for people to cast a vote or a shout out. You know the deal by now, cast the vote you think you like best and keep checking it once and a while. The main purpose of this is to help mappers see what kind of maps they can make, they want to see what people like, they want to see they're side of the story. Hope it helps! ;D

Why had I not thought of this before?
Great idea! I bow before you. This is gonna be sooo useful to see what most of the players want. But I would have allowed more than just one choice 'cause I'd have chosen like three of them. Well, the parts to my super nuclear NASA computer should be arriving soon, and then I'm pretty sure I'll work day and night until SDK is finally working.

Some times it can be that, or some times urban can be in the country or in areas that no one knows of, or they don't know how many friendly's or hostiles in that area.

No, it never means out in the country.

The word Urban literally means 'related to cities'.  An urban area is characterized by higher population density and vast human features in comparison to areas surrounding it. Urban areas may be cities, towns or conurbations, but the term is not commonly extended to rural settlements such as villages and hamlets.

It says you're a marine scout, but oh well no use arguing.

An Ultramarine...Marine Scout?  ::)  I wonder when I rank up?

Anyway, we probably shouldn't drag this off topic!  :D

I think it'd be neat to have a desert/wasteland map.  It's the sort of "traditional" 40k battlefield--some sort of blasted landscape with little vegetation and plenty of open spaces.  It'd be simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

its bad for the tyranids and there lack of ranged firepower.

some ruins in there would reslove that.

One thing Davie, tyranids don't go for planets that DO NOT have life on them.
Good idea though

It could be a desert or wasteland, but that does not necessarily mean the Tyranids won't go for it.  If there is a human population of billions on the world that will more than suffice for biomass.

However, yes, if it is a barren ball of rock or ice with absolutely no life and no biomass to be consumed then it would be passed straight by.
