Title: The holy emperor! Post by: Nqss on February 27, 2011, 10:39:30 PM So the EX cant search for the servers now 0_o
but i've got 2 different versions one is for maps and it couldnt search servers UNTILL NOW and the second is EX itself which was for playing and cant search servers now =\ So , if you want to manage this stuff workin as mine you have to download mod again if dont have it then startup source SDK and change engine to 2007 ver then create simple MP mod with name Exterminatus and located in sourcemods/Exterminatus After that put EX files in your new created mod and restart steam This is actually works well for mapping , you dont have to currect the gameinfo file and....i dont know , but mine sdk somehow saves the .bsp in both mods map folders have a nice day Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Loxn on February 28, 2011, 12:16:56 AM i have 3 ex game versions one for testing maps "ex2" one for gaming "ex game" one for hammer settings "ex test"
if i map i rename "ex test" to "ex" (cant find servers but i can map) if i play online i rename "ex game" to "ex" (find servers can'2 map) "ex test" has gameinfo 440 and is for hammer settings "ex game" and "ex2" has gameinfo 218 and is for testing and gaming online For creater of maps: -copy your current game 2 times -rename "ex2" and "ex normal" -"ex test" gameinfo "440" -"ex2" gameinfo "218" -"ex game" gameinfo "218" -rename "ex test" to "ex" (for mapping) -restart/start Steam -start Source SDK -Game Engine 2009 -Edit Game Configurations -add "ex" with game directory x:\x\steam\steamapps\sourcemods\ex Hammer Editor: Tools - Options - Game Configurations Game Executable Directory: $SteamUserDir\Source SDK Base Game Directory: $SteamDir\steamapps\sourcemods\ex Hammer VMF Directory: $SteamDir\steamapps\sourcemods\sourcesdk_content\ex2\mapsrc Build Programms Configuration: "ex" Game executable: $SteamUserDir\Source SDK Base\hl2.exe BSP: $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin\vbsp.exe VIS: $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin\vvis.exe RAD: $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin\vrad.exe compiled maps running game: $SteamDir\steamapps\sourcemods\ex2\maps and done! now you can easily change the name of the folders to map/testing or gaming ( -if you would play ex online rename "ex" to "ex test" -rename "ex game" to "ex" -restart/start steam and its ready ) cheers Loxn Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Nqss on February 28, 2011, 07:37:39 AM =O
you aint searchin an easy ways , dont you? thats just too musch Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Nqss on February 28, 2011, 07:40:16 AM Thats the problem there guys , you are trying to map for 2009 , thats why you have to do all that shit to manage it to work
face it , its a mod for 2007 version , the ep2 mods are 2009 only Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Typheron on February 28, 2011, 02:09:23 PM I just change the SteamAppId from 218 (play ex normally) to 440 (map ex as 2009) in the gameinfo file in the ex directory.
No double versions, no complex crap just change that one identifier before i open it up. Had valve not borked the hell out of hammer not too long ago, it would not be a problem. Had valve not borked the hell out of hammer not too long ago, it would not be a problem. as one solid mod can make it all works with test and stuff once again , its not belong the 2009 engine Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Loxn on February 28, 2011, 03:05:35 PM or you make a .bat file with delete gameinfo and copy 440 etc. :D
Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Nqss on February 28, 2011, 03:17:08 PM and then edit like all shortcuts and setting in hammer to work with the .bat
but it wouldn't help much because when you runnin map for test its run it with steam Title: Re: The holy emperor! Post by: Loxn on February 28, 2011, 11:22:22 PM :P
