For this weeks Alpha testing as well as checking the bug fixes from the previous alpha i'm also looking to test the full version of the self installer.  This bad boy is 350MB of Exterminatus awesomeness and if all goes well this will be the last Alpha test before the new Beta goes public.

Installation
Take a backup of your Sourcemods/ex folder (Beta 6.25) then delete Sourcemods/ex.  Run the installer, it *should* find your steam installation path automatically.  Restart Steam. You should now see the Exterminatus Beta 7.0 in your steam games library.

If you have problems installing or running this patch visit the Steam Community Game Group, chat room on Steam.  I'll be there to offer advice during testing times (please be patient, I will be in-game, participating in the test at the same time).

Overview
This is just a release "candidate", it may not be ready for prime time just yet, which is what we're testing for.  I will also provide a zip archive with the same contents as the installer for server operators and cases where the installer cannot locate your steam folder.

Help with the impending beta release
If you have any cool screenshots, demos or videos of EX i'd love to get a copy so I can use them to promote Beta 7.0.

If you can host a mirror of the Beta 7 download please get in touch before the weekend starting September the 29th, so I can get the URLs for the final version to you before 40ksource.com gets overloaded ;)

If you think you'd be able to help promote Beta 7.0 on the interwebz (facebook, twitter, G+, reddit, digg etc.)  please get in touch and i'll try and see you get all the material you need.

Beta 7 RC 1 After Action Report
4 players installed OK already.  More testing to come...

Fix Before Beta 7.0

• Running windowed by default
• ex_version returns 6.38
• High mouse sensitivity?
• ex_lycantium needs re-compiling and it's cubemaps rebuilt
• Carnifex scream effect may be facing the wrong way.

Fix After Beta 7.0

• Map voting menu needs to scroll, when too many maps are added to the mapcycle
• Loading screen should use the full screen size

I had a couple of client crashes, I know on at least one occasion (during a map change) that hit all players.  However this did not leave any debugging information.  if any of the testers has any MDMP files from tonights test in there $steamuserdir/source sdk base 2007/ folder please email them to me ( leader@40ksource.com ).
