Title: EX Alpha 7.60 - Still Fixing

Last weeks release candidate had few reversion bugs in it where I had to back out changes in order to fix a crash.  It's all back up to working condition now.   I've started updating the help and putting together a video of the new features since the last Beta

Installation instructions
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Tweaks
  • Crack decals on breakables (in all the maps I have source for anyway).
  • Highlight the local player on the scoreboard in a dark band rather than a light one (the light background makes it hard to read).

Bug Fixes
  • Restored the Tarantula kill icon.
  • Restored Tarantula target ID so marines can't tell how much health it has.
  • Prevent the Plasmagun charging if you switch away from it.

I did investigate the bug where players sometimes get stuck dead but could not find any new leads.

Under the current system it also seem to be impossible to show the correct kill icon for players burning to death as the mod cannot tell ambient flames from ones set by the flamer.

This patch contains only the changes since previous Alpha.

Future
This version does not feel sufficiently different from Beta 7.50 to make it Beta 8.0, shall we call it Beta 7.60?  Then once that's shaken down  (we've not got enough players to do a shake down ATM) re-release it as version 1.  Then I can look to porting it to the Source SDK Base 2013 or possibly even start over with Rival Species 3.

After Action Report 7.60
I'm a little bit disappointed with the turnout, but the mod performed adequately.

Minor tweaks before the Beta release
  • Fix the light leaking into the displacements in the tyranid spawn on Thunderhawk.
  • Add a shatter decal to the Ore objective on Ichar IV.

I made the following changes on the Alpha server last night:

Tweaks
  • Buffed powerfist damage from 80 to 90.
  • Buffed powerfist to cause double knockback.
  • Nerfed turret, it now takes 2.5x the damage from acid.
  • Halved the knockback from slashing melee weapons.
