The changes in this weeks alpha are lag compensation for melee attacks and some balance changes.

  • 40ksource.com installer (http://www.40ksource.com/files/Exterminatus_Alpha_7.97.exe)

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer
  • Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"/
  • Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
  • Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
  • You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Tweaks
  • Adjusted the lag compensation for melee weapons and the warp blast psionic.

Balance
  • Buffed Tarantula max range from 1200 to 2400.
  • Buffed Stormbolter damage from 28 to 30.
  • Buffed Carnifex armor effectiveness slightly.

Unfortunately I was unable to track down the client crash that was causing a problem for some players in version 7.96.  If it re-occurs this week I need players to send me their .DMP files from steam/dumps so I can debug it.

The following ZIP contains only the changes since the previous alpha.
