Print Page - Exterminatus Alpha Patch 7.99 and Change Log

This week i've been busy releasing patched for issues with the bolt weapons, working on improving some of the maps, putting wargear hints back in, signing VPK files for use with SV_Pure and updating the EX manual for the 2013 version (not uploaded yet). Due to the some large map updates and nearness to a new Beta version this weeks ZIP file will is a full install, rather than a patch.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer

Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"/
Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha

If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
Restart Steam. You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Tweaks

Made aesthetic improvements to ex_orbital and ex_spacehulk
Changed the turret placement in the first two marine objectives on ex_hive and moved the control point in sector IV to the ground floor.

Balance

Nerfed the rate at which the Meltgun does damage (now using ex_metlagun_rof console variable for tuning).
Buffed Flamer damage from 23 to 24 per burn.
Buffed Assult marine jump pack range.
Nerfed Lictor leap range.
Nerfed Genstealer leap range slightly.

Bugfix

Re-implemented the wargear hint system that had been broken since 7.90 and no-one had reported.
Fix team names not being displayed on the scoreboard.
Fixed a crash when a player ragdolls.
Fix a crash where the game engine suddenly decides not to share it static prop manager.
Don't try and give ammo for wargear that doesn't use ammo (was writing warning to the console).
