Alpha 8.26 features updates to tarsis_ultra, new wargear for the Tyranids and smoke launchers for the Dreadnaught.


The FTP is on the blink again, so i'm relying on ModDB to authorise and distribute this version.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer

• Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
• Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
• Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
• You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha

• If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
• Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
• Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 8.21 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Feature

• Dreadnaughts now launch smoke grenades using the reload key. Limited to 3 per spawn.  Smoke effects thanks to DontAsk4470.
• New Devourer wargear set for the Tyranid warrior.  Very rough version, expect bugs.

I am looking for contributions to pad out the Tyranids armoury for Beta 4.0.  Currently Wikkyd is working on adapting existing wargear to work with more classes, but we can always use more.

Tweaks

• Plasmagun, Deathspitter and Sporemine trail effects from DontAsk4470.
• New boltpistol shot sound effect from DontAsk4470.
• Improved the textures on the dreadnaughts legs.
• Taris Ultra updated so dreadnaugts can leave the marine start .

The Betrayer has been working on a plan to revise the EX menu system, please read his proposal (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/exterminatusgame/discussions/0/490124466453386979/) and give us your feedback.  The Betrayer is still looking at improving the Dreadnaugths 3rd person animations.

Known issues

• Tyranid warrior plays the wrong aim animations when using the Devourer.
• Devourer Muzzleflash, tracer and impact effects not playing.
• Placeholder sounds for the Devourer.
• Placeholder HUD graphics for the Devourer.

I am still looking for a voice actor to record some custom battle cries for the dreadnaught.  Please send me your WAVs!
