Alpha 8.47 features a new map from EX regular DontAsk, a batch of new sounds from voice actor Bulwark and a a batch of tweaks and enhancements to existing ex maps.


A notable milestone has been reached with all the new maps, sounds and textures in this alpha, the EX installer has exceeded 1 gigabyte in size for the first time.

The ModDB mirrors unlock at 12:00 GMT, if it's busy or not working the installer can be downloaded from 40ksource.com (http://www.40ksource.com/files/Exterminatus_Alpha_8.47.exe).  Please try the ModDB first.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer

• Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
• Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
• Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
• You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha

• If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
• Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
• Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 8.38 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Features

• New map ex_fortress by DontAsk4470.  It's his first map and it hasn't been tested in multiplayer yet, so expect some rough edges.

Tweaks

• New Carnifex talon sounds by Bulwark
• New Devourer firing sounds by Bulwark
• New marine battle cries and deaths recorded bu Bulwark.
• Marine classes now have their own unique battle cry along with the generic ones.
• New imperial decals, door and crate textures to replace the old Source textures
• Updated version of ex_forge, ex_valley and ex_orbital using the new textures and decals.
• More progress on the single player tutorial map ex_tutoiral_2016.

I still have many more recordings from the marvellous voice actor and community contributor Bulwark to edit and script into EX, so you can expect to hear more from him.  The tutorial level is still being worked on, but I think i'll start on the new carnifex weapon combo with dual devourers next week.
