Title: Alpha 8.49 - Urban Redevelopment
Post by: ChromeAngel on August 14, 2016, 05:36:09 PM
Alpha 8.49 features a new version of the old EX city map ex_lycantim and fixes to ex_fortress and the Devourer Host wargear that was introduced in 8.48

Installer Alpha 8.49 (http://www.moddb.com/mods/exterminatus/downloads/exterminatus-alpha-849-installer) ( 1.01gb )

Zip File Alpha Patch 8.49 (http://www.moddb.com/mods/exterminatus/downloads/exterminatus-alpha-patch-849-zip) ( 153.07mb )

The ModDB mirrors unlock at 17:00 GMT, if it's busy or not working the installer can be downloaded from 40ksource.com (http://www.40ksource.com/files/Exterminatus_Alpha_8.49.exe).  Please try the ModDB first.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer
  • Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
  • Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
  • Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
  • You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 8.38 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Tweaks
  • Added  anew objective, shorted several routes and removed some intermediate areas in ex_lycantium.

BugFixes
  • Regenerated the cube maps of ex_fortress to sotp all the normal mapped assets from glowing when hDR is on.
  • Fixed the Carnifexes twin devourers, so they do damage properly.

I am still trying to find a fix for why the master server browser is refusing to list my server and why Steam overlay has stopped working with EX.   If anyone has any ideas about the cause of these please let me know ( leader@40ksource.com ).

8.50 would normally be a landmark for a new Beta (being 10 Alphas since the last Beta), but i'm not feeling like the mod is polished enough at the moment.   Next week i'll write a up news post, get some screenshots and roll all the changes for the last 10 alphas into the main EX VPK file and all the other good stuff I do a for a Beta release, but we'll just call 8.50 an Alpha for now.
