so what do people want to see from rs in the way of marine chapter

note: this is unofficial poll but i think people my find it a usefull one

i listed all the loyal 1st founding chapters

i choose some alien hunters from the ordo xenos
but if given a second option it would be iron hands

Where? As I see it, this poll is more like a yes or no to Ordo Xenos.
I don't think anyone actually wants the game to be about a new chapter someone made up.
Maybe someone should set up a poll for all official chapters.

no it is not.

Ultramarines will be the Chapter of choise in RS2:E, there nid fighting skills are legendary and it leaves a lot of room of historic re-inactments of the nid invasions they were involved with.

sounds fair. Will everyone have the white elmet (veterans)?

well theres talk of "vet upgrades" for doing well, a white helmet would be one of them, purity seals, perhaps battle scars...

but probably not as a white helmet is first company.

i would love any codex chapter... because it would be unfair if you would make for example blood angels because dark angels players will cry for them etc...

a nice made up chapter would be cool too :-D

my brother has a nice purple and white colour scheme :-D

It was felt that to open a poll for a the marine chapter to be used would stir fanish and cause more problems that it was worth

ah ok sorry having all the loayal chapters was not aloude so i just came up with those 3 because it focuses on chapters known to kill tyranids. also i didnt know that ultra marine where the defenate chapter chosen

i just thought it would be nice to see what others thought

anyway if it is going to be ultra marines i suggest making the blue darker. not much because the bright ultramarines i think just dont do there chapter justice.

a nice mix of 3/4 regal blue and 1/4 ultra blue make a better colour for the ultramarines..

also if we are doing ultramarines should we not have tyranid war veterans as champion classes. just a thought because the tyeranid war veterans are awsome models and i would like to see them in RS

Tyranid war-veterans would be really cool ... if anyone have the patience to model their trohpies.

Ultramarines would probably be the best bet for a chapter.  That way you could get some awesome maps in like the Maccrage Polar Defense Fortress and that genestealer-infested church on Ichar IV.

Space hulk was dark angels and death wing, if you've ever played the old old ms-dos game. I think it should be dark angels/deathwing.

the dev team already decided that we'll use Ultramarines. Go check the faq.

Funny thing, I didn't knew the decicion was made before I read the new FAQ.  :?

... it was clear from the beginning...

we actually spent a long time thinking about what to do about the chapter to be used, eventually we decided to make a internal decision and run with it as it was felt that there would be too much fanboyish if a vote was put up.

we tried quite a few ideas, our own chapter, even a camo pattern marine before the Ultras were chosen.

Eventually it was down to the ultras familuarity with the Tyranid race and the possabilities of historic map campains later on. Battle of the Polar fortress anyone?

The other main reason was the universality of the Ultramarines, there the generic space marine chapter and would allow skin packs and the like to be made for them by 3rd parties.

Personally i liek the Ultreas, they get a bad rap for being all goody goody space marines, but theres way more to them than that and we hope to bring some of that out in the gameplay somehow.

The polls and discutions have been running for a long time, and none of the team members have ever said it was already decided. Until now, the chapter was undecided.

I respect the internal team desicion. It's the easiest thing to do, as all models are already skinned as Ultras, and I am really not in the mood for yet another poll.  :)

actually its been decided since rivalspecies last patch, although we did not really think about it much and thus did not actually tell anyone that did not ask when we were doing.

RS2 has actually been in planning and development for some time beyond the inital announcement, there were models done for 2 aditional teams (chaos and the titans) and plans for a whole pile of stuff thats now been scrapped in favour of the synapse tyranids.

We REALLY dont want any more polls, they were just there to get some feedback and had everyone voted for 40k fishmen or squads as the race then we would have ignored most of you and gone with core 40k armies.

Well maybe, some of us miss the squats but we are using the race that ate them! *stunty tyranids, interesting...*

Oviously most of these have since been put into the cold hardness of Chromeangels defunct model store beside the cryogenically frozen head of Walt Disney, but they were done.

The Nid warrior and termiguant have since been reworked and there "evolution" continues, the finals will oviously be seen in game.
