Space Marine sounds for EX

I finally was able to extract sounds from Space Marine.

However the Bolter sounds are underwhelming so I used the Storm Bolter for it instead. I also boosted the volume of all three bolt weapons in Goldwave.
One of the strangest things is that Relic used the same sounds for all three weapons.
There also no Melta sounds because the weapon functions more like a high power shotgun in Space Marine. Also no Nid sounds because there are non in Space Marine.


DOW2 sounds will come when the Emperor blesses me with more funds.

Egahds, would you kindly upload the original un-edited versions of these sounds? And if you can, other sound effects that you can get your hands on from Space Marine. I'm asking this because these sounds right now are just too amplified, removing a lot of details from the sound and making it just a bassy boom. Especially the chainsaw hit sound, absolute ear rape in normal volume.

Sthal asked me to make use the loudest possible sounds for the weapons, everything else is unchanged. Not going to bother with these as there was no other for the sounds to not be absurdly soft. Also I'll be scrapping this when I have enough money for Dawn of War II. The Space Marine weapons sounds are just underwhelming except for the Chainsword.

Also each weapon file had sounds for all weapons of its type, even when they weren't use in game.(ie Heavy Bolter had sound files for the pistol, bolter and storm bolter)

You should be able to adjust the volume in-game by tweaking the values in scripts/game_sounds_weapons.txt all the EX weapon stuff should be toward the end of the file.

I'm talking about the sound file itself. Imagine you taking a small picture and magnifying/stretching it to fit your desktop. Same concept with sounds, the sound quality has been degraded from the volume increase. Most of the sound is now clipped off of the chart and is heard as static. That's why when you make gun sounds, you need to fit the whole sound in without clipping it horribly. If not, the sound somewhat resembles a gun shot sound being played from a "Get Well Soon" card.
