This is an OUTRAGE. C'mon! I wanted to play the old version, but i can't get such an old game! I tried to talk relic to make something simmilar, but they locked my post! I wanted to blast some eldar or chaos with a marine bolter, but they're not in this mod! Not much of a sequal! Balance issues are easy! Please not just tyranids! Please! I BEG YOU TO RECONSIDER! Bolter lookin good tho!  love to try it on a guardian! |

Welcome to the forum  No we wont be doing other races, it has been decided from very early on with our experiences from Rival Species. The main problem is the balancing, it is really not as easy as you think, while trying maintaining the fluff. The 2nd problem is the actual content; we dont have a large enough team to create every thing in the 40k universe, and in the event that we were to add one extra race, there would be people complaining all over the place "why isnt *insert race here* included! they are the best!!!". Basically we cant please everyone. We did have several polls before we started work on the content for EX on what race to include and the results were that we should do Nids If you would like to play a game with all the races except Tyranids and Dark Eldar there is Dawn of War and our previous mod that is still in developement Rival Species http://www.rivalspecies.com/. If you dont have half life, it is available in pretty much every game shop for about £10. |

You can play Space Marines or Tyranids in this mod.
Any other race, it's RivalSpecies.com for you.
Don't be afraid of the empty server, people are monitoring it, and might jump in if someone new are playing.
It's not exactly the first request for more races in the mod. There is no way you can convince the team to make more races, so just drop it.

Behond it is I, Typheron, Moderator of several rs2 forums and PR bloke. I have heard your calls for more races and the answer is: No. Fraid so, for all the reasons said above, however were not the only team doing 40k mods, so: http://ut40k.planetunreal.gamespy.com/ - a UT2004 mod http://wh40kapocalypse.vossey.net/ - a HL2 mod with orks and SMs there are others, but those are the best i know of. Also a little bird told me that rs1 may be ported to source, well part of it anyway. Also you can buy HL1 online via steam for a very resonable price if your that desperate. |

I would say that getting Half-Life should be the least of your problems if you REALLY want to play all the races... So instead of posting angry posts like this try and help out developing the games, maybe you will see how much work is actually needed then. If you want to help then go on IRC and get some help from some of the inhabitants there...
I would however recommend to be a bit more polite in the future or you will force Typh to abuse his powers :?
