Yeah, not a great name but I just started it so I haven't thought of a GOOD name.

But this map is mostly just so I can remember all the Hammer goodies, I probably won't complete it, but I think its a good idea and I have a vague idea what I want it to look like.  I will post a few screenshots now and then Tongue

P.S. I also can't seem to get the map to run in-game, it says something about not being able to find the specified file...

Some screenshots:

all of my work so far

The majority of the inside, showing off my little walkway

This one is just to show the size of the door (So you can tell me if its big enough or not, which I assume it isn't)

A good start.

Last I checked, Space Marines were twice the width and height of a HL2 character.

The best way to check if your dooway is going to be large enough is to load it in the MDK and try going through it as the Tyranid class.

If EX cannot find the map their may be a compiling problem, check the ex_WarZone0.1.log file to see if it's having any issues.

Please read the MDK documentation if you haven't already.

ps
"Snap to grid" is recommended. 90% of all Typheron's mapping issues are because he didn't use it.

Warzone is a very nice name... do you have a theme for it? or, like an idea of whats it gonna be? (dont say "A warzone", cause that would devastate me to the core)

What kind of problems? >>.

Again the main idea of this map is just to get used to hammer again, though the general theme is going to be a battle over a ruined city of some sort, and my objectives will probably just be trying to capture certain points on the map, going back and forth or something.

Some concepts I am looking at for my first fully done map are something with rescuing some sort of V.I.P. (Don't know what/who yet) or inserting a tactical squad into a Hive city, planting explosives to blow it up and retrieving some data or something.

Compile issues, if the map has lots of stuff off-grid then the compile times skyrocket, meaning fast compiles become the standard way of making things work, resulting in low FPS rates in game for all but the biggest computer systems.

Yeah I am pretty much gonna drop this idea, I am going for a map where you blow up some stuff, kill nids, blow up more stuff, and retrieve some stuff (To put it simply).  This idea is, for the most part, gonna be scratched while I work on some serious concepts for a map.
