Slow progress for this alpha due to the Source SDK breaking down following changes to the Steam "pipeline".  This alpha features some aesthetic improvements to some of the maps and some more bug fixes.

Full Download 7.54 (434,607 KB)

Installation instructions
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed dropped flamer and meltagun effects being stuck on.
  • Fixed rouge trigger texture in ex_tarsis_ultra.

Tweaks
  • Aesthetic improvements to the marine fortress on EX_Taris_Ultra.
  • Aesthetic improvements to several areas on EX_Hive.

Last weeks server crash left no records of it's cause.  I'm putting it down there being too much AWESOME going on.  I am currently investigating the cause of doors "over closing" in several maps.  I'd like to have a technique for reproducing this bug if anyone can find one.

Download 7.54 patch only (41,323 KB)

This patch contains only the changes since Alpha 7,53.

Alpha 7.54 After Action Report
Good test, lots of players.  Bugs fixed I think, but the  Inferno pistol got missed and still has the particle system bug.

Lots of interest in using the Tarantula for tweaking the balance.

Wergild feels nids ninja capping favotrs them in the overall balance.

Another "papercut" bug is the objective cameras, there must be a better way.

Stahl threatened to make a version of the marine missile launcher with the classic 3 missile "clip".   making a note here to see if he delivers.

Sunday After Action Report
Stahl organised a Sunday game at short notice.

Buffed flamer damage to 23, seemed to be an improvement.

Tried buffing the medic tool and aura, quite high too. but that wasn't so noticeable.

Buffing Storm Bolter accuracy to 2.125 wasn;t really noticeable either.

the apot buff was inceribly helpful, now you can effectively heal your marine comrades, though not as effectively as the healer trope, which is still op when used with vc fex

termie needs way more buffing to accuracy

warriors feel much better and less frustrating. i suggest reducing the salvo to 2 shots before reload, but reducing the time between shots in the salvo

we need to figure out something for the flamer. its pretty on par with the other weapons now, but too effective against big creatures, which it shoulnt be at all

Another "papercut" bug is the light source for the terminators flashlight.

I also saw a dropped flamer stuck on, so my attempted fix was not a success.
