The bug fixes and skin packs continue this week.  Target IDs are back, the Tarantula is working to some extent and three more marine chapters are available for play.

Full Download 7.56 (403,222 KB)

Installation instructions
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Work in progress
  • Tarantula (automated turret) to defend the marine objectives.  Partially working, poor targeting.

Bug Fixes
  • Restored Target IDs.
  • Reverted door changes.

Balance
  • Buffed Apothecary ammo from 2 clips of bolts to 3.

Tweaks
  • Improved access to the vents in ex_thunderhawk.

Download 7.56 patch only (70,698KB)
40ksource.com

This patch contains only the changes since Alpha 7.55.

Skin Pack Installation
  • Install EX beta 7.50 (if not already installed)
  • Extract the zip file to your steam/steamapps/sourcemods folder (this should overwrite lots of files and folder inside the ex folder).

To revert to playing with Ultramarines simply install the Ultramarine skin pack.

These three skin packs round out the "first founding" space marine chapters.  You can thank Commissar Valvatorez for triggering my OCD to finish the set, rather than fixing more bugs.

After Action Report 7.56
Despite getting 6 players at one point I don't think we generally had enough players to judge the balance changes in this Alpha properly.  May try again tomorrow.

The bug fixes seemed to work, but i'm reserving my opinion on the balance changes.

Vents on Thunderhawk are still useless and this map has no Ammo Shrine.

Turret Wishlist
  • Silence turret sounds when it dies
  • Remove/replace the HL2 turret sounds
  • Enable damaging of Carnifexes
  • Add a new entity to tell EX where to spawn turrets
  • Detonate turrets when their objectives are captured
  • Enable targeting of enemies closer than 60 units
  • Enable targeting of enemies 360 degrees of yaw and +/- 45 degrees of pitch
