I have spent the another week fixing the bugs that were reported during last week's alpha test.  Hopefully we should be able to test some more gameplay this week.

Patch only Zip Archive


(ModDB downloads may take a few hours to be authorised)

Full Download 7.92 (453,898 KB)

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer
  • Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"/
  • Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
  • Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
  • You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Tweaks
  • Improved the class and wargear menu presentation.
  • Switched to the "sv_pure" method of checking server and client are running the same version.  The default whitelist should allow chapter skins to keep working, but this needs to be tested.

Bug Fixes
  • Replaced the missing sky materials on tarsis_ultra/
  • Corrected the flamer is missing it's 3rd person effect.
  • Moved the turret as the last stand objective on tarsis_ultra to prevent it falling into the snow.
  • Player count on scoreboard now shows players on the team, not total players.
  • Prevent crouching and un-crouching giving players the speed and view of a HL2MP player, even as a tyranid.

Known Bugs
  • Some particle systems visible through walls (muzzle flash/bolt impact).

The following ZIP contains only the changes since the previous alpha.

Storm Bolter needs to do same damage as the Bolter. It still doesn't harm the Canifex, which doesn't make sense.

After Action Report 7.92
First the good news, all the bug fixes appear to work.  

However Stormbolters don't seems to be able to penetrate fex armor and upping the value using the console commands does not appear to work either.   Not sure if it's using the damage from the weapon script instead of the convar or if it's just not penetrating the armor for another reason.

Worse still heavy bolters are doing zero damage and are not showing any muzzle flash or tracers in 3rd person.  It does however damage shootable doors on the lab, so there is some damage in the system somewhere.  The ammo in stock counter on the marine HUD glitches when you have over 100 rounds in stock.

Finally the biggest problem is that we now have some client crashes.  Source now writes it's dumps to files in steam/dumps/*.dmp , hopefully I can work out how to use these to trace the cause of the crash.
