Alpha 8.18 includes a new version of ex_forge, new sounds from DontAsk, minor bug fixes, a HUD timer to show mp_timelimit remaining and a new spawn protection system.


The FTP is on the blink again, so i'm relying on ModDB to authorise and distribute this version.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer
  • Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
  • Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
  • Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
  • You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 8 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Features
  • New version of ex_forge, with more cover, more light and more details.
  • Stormwolf 597 has been awarded a contributors Hero tag for his space marine battle cries.
  • New chainsword and powersword hit sounds from DontAsk.
  • The map time limit (mp_timelimit) is now shown on the HUD and the tactical overview (F1).
  • Spawn protection, players are now invulnerable for a few seconds after spawning.  Configured by the new console variable ex_protect_time (default 10 seconds).

Balance
  • Lictor uncloaking sound should now be louder to give victims more warning.

Bug Fixes
  • Chainsword blades no longer show white between their teeth.
  • The Inferno pistol combo now uses the new powersword sounds.
  • Terminators have the normal map back on their metal parts.
  • Pylons "pop" less when changing LODs.

Tweak
  • Updated soundscapes for many maps made by DontAsk.
