To the questions:
I said that the passengers will
not
get slaughtered in their Rhino.
Case 1: Synapse creature attacks with ranged weapon.
It is more than unlikely that the transport will be destroyed in the first few hit. So the passengers will get a chance to get out. But immobilized would be a way to make the Tyranids bother attacking the tank.
Case 2: Tyranid attacks at meele range.
A Carnifex should be able to tear a Rhino apart pretty fast, but it needs to close in first. That should give the Marines a chance to get out first.
And people should not use their personal points to buy transports. They should be a free team resource, like in Battlefield, and spawn either once when an objective have been compleated, or once in a while.
Whether the mappers choose to use the option of including a Rhino in his map is another matter.

its not really the fact of putting it into the map, its more the fact of making it, and implementing it into the game. after those things u jsut said, they dont really seem worth it, well i enver thought they did, but now i think it more. if we wanna add vehicles why dont we jsut add control points and call it battlefield 40k

with a SINGLE wehicle it won't be Bf2-esque.
It could be used as a great resource in some maps, where maybe ai controlled tyranid sentries must be surpassed fastly.

Seriously, I don't think rhino would be even fun. Going into a vehicle, sitting in there not even seeing out, when near target jumping out and shooting some stuff and then either dying and respawning or getting back in the vehicle and cruising to the next target. No thanks. And when playing 'nids I think it would be more fun to play against a squad of marines than chase a blue taxi around.
Then, as already said this is going to be mostly about cityfighting and I don't think there are really many passages for a rhino in a ruined city. And those few that there are will be well-guarded by 'nids.

hellooooOOooooo, vehicles are fun, but ofcourse this is a infantry oriented game... but havent you played return to castle wolfenstein: enemy territory? there they act as the objective, it needs to reach a target and is piloted by npc and moves as its team progress with the objective. the other team is to destroy it...
my 2 cents...

well one of the "what i really want" things in the wiki where we keep a list of things is a useable APC for the marines, it would act like a mobile spawn point, armoury and medical facility and would be a objective that the marines would have to protect as well as doing their other objectives.
Oviously the nids would want to kill it ASAP as well as their own objectives.
