Yes we have a CAPTCHA for user registration.  We also send every registrant an email to confirm their address is real.  Sadly the spammers software / slave labor is smart enough to cope with both these measures.

The spammers are often registered using gmail accounts, which suggests they have cracked the big G's CAPTCHA too.
