Cripes, you guys DO get a lot of spam bots...
A common anti-bot measure is having several letters and numbers placed unevenly in an image, with various lines and squiggles making it nigh-on impossible for even clever bots to analyse, while a person can visually discipher the difference between a line and part of a letter, with their big muscular brain.
