The work of improving and polishing the mod continues.  I've also been working on a new design for the Veteran's helmet, which is not in this build as it's not ready fro prime time yet.  If you've been paying attention you may have noticed that I like to make the betas out of the big round version numbers, so i'm looking at this build as a candidate for the next EX Beta.

Installation instructions
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 7.5 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Features
  • Modified the statue prop used on Taris Ultra to be more 40k styled.
  • Now showing your bound USE key when aiming at an ammo shrine.

Tweaks
  • New prop models have been aligned to the walls on Thunderawk and additional cover has been added.
  • New mission text for Ichar IV.
  • Added turret placement spots to ex_spacehulk and made some aesthetic changes.
  • Nerfed turret damage from 16 to 8 per hit and made it ignore carnifex armor.
  • Updated the loading map for ex_thunderhawk to reflect the new objective locations.

Bug Fixes
  • Intermittent client crash on map change.  This one pissed me off and held me up for the best part of a week.
  • Veteran weapons are described as with chainsword instead of with powersword.
  • Mission text carrying over from a previous map/mission.  Where not specified by the map it defaults to a generic "kill the enemy" mission.
  • Menu background now uses the EX style rather than the default EP2 background.

This patch contains only the changes since previous Alpha.  Several map have received upgrades in in this patch, so it's quite large this time around.

After Action Report 7.59
Small turnout tonight, but it was enough to spot a few problems.  Did I forget to schedule an event?  Try again tomorrow.

Bugs
  • Missing Tarantula kill icon.
  • Missing Tarantula target ID (marines can't tell how much health it has).
  • Missing Flamer kill icon.
  • Plasmagun still charging if you switch away from it (effective or just the sound?).
  • City Conflict's loading map does not include the final objective.
  • Players intermittently being unable to re-spawn.  Using F4 to switch teams then back again is a workaround.

Suggestions
  • Mark breakable items with a standard decal so players will know they are breakable (specifically the enclosed tyranid spawn in City Conflict).
  • Highlight the local player on the scorebaord in a dark band rather than a light one (the light background makes it hard to read).
