Alpha 8.22 features a new Dreadnaught class for the marine team, makes the melta gun an assaullt marine weapon.

Special thanks go to StormWolf 597 for kicking off the Dreadnaught project with his player model, Wikkyd for unwrapping it and DontAsk5570 for provinding the sound effects.

Installer Alpha 8.22 (647,515 KB)

Zip File Alpha 8.22 (635,206 KB)

The FTP is on the blink again, so i'm relying on ModDB to authorise and distribute this version.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer
  • Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
  • Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
  • Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
  • You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha
  • If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see both the Exterminatus Beta 8.21 and Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Features
  • New Dreadnaught player class.  Very expensive class, should be tough to kill.  Testing for balance and obvious bugs.
  • New Dreadnaught player model by Stormwolf597, Wikkyd and ChromeAngel.
  • New Dreadnaught player sounds by DontAsk4470.
  • Flamer and Siege drill weapon combo for the Dreadnaught.
  • New Flamer fist and Siege drill weapon combo model by Stormwolf597, Wikkyd and ChromeAngel.
  • Moved the melta gun wargear set from the specialist to the assault marine.  This should cost more than the regular assault marine.

Tweaks
  • Wargear system has been modified to allow for kits of different points cost on the same class.
  • Player class system has been modified to handle player sound (such as battle cries and footsteps) differently.

This is the first Alpha since Beta 8.21 with quite a few changes so i'm expecting this version to be more of a work in progress than usual. I'm forecasting crashes and wired things happening.

Known Bugs
  • New Dreadnaught skins are not finished.
  • New weapon skins are not finished.
  • Flamer effect vanishes when you aim below the horizon.
  • Placeholder particle systems for the Dreadnaught and it's weapons.
  • Placeholder HUD artwork for the Dreadnaught weapons.
  • Dreadnaught cables are visible in first person.
