Alpha 8.54 features a remixing of the powersword sounds, the return of some classic chainsword sounds and tweaks to the main and class menus.
The ModDB mirrors unlock at 15:00 GMT, if it's busy or not working the installer can be downloaded from
40ksource.com. Please try the ModDB first.
Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer- Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
- Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
- Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
- You can exit once the menu has finished loading.
Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha- If you already have a copy of the EX alpha, delete it.
- Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
- Restart Steam. You should now see both the Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.
Tweaks- Reverted the chainsword sounds to use an earlier, more consistent send of effects.
- Reverted the powersword missed sound effect and mixed a new powersword hit effect to match it.
- Hide the main menu during map loading.
- made another attempt at getting the Class menu to go back to the Team menu when cancelling with the 0 or escape keys.
For the Future- I'm still trying to resolve the server browser issue. There doesn't seem to be much info available. It does seem to be EX specific and not my server or valve's software. I just don't know what the cause is./
- I want to add keyboard control to new main menu I added in 8.53. It's a matter of polish.
- Plasma FX and Sporemine FX both need scaling down and speeding up. I'm getting pretty close with my tool to manage them, but it's also throwing up some new technical issues.
