Alpha 9.11 features the return of an old EX map Spacehulk and more improvements to the scouting system along with bug fixes and balance adjustments.  The chapter pack this week is for the Blood Angels chapter, my personal favourite.


The ModDB mirrors unlock at 12:00 GMT, if it's busy or not working the installer can be downloaded from 40ksource.com.  Please try the ModDB first.

Install the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer
  • Navigate to the "Tools" section on your Steam games "Library"
  • Install the "Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer"
  • Run the Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer at least once.
  • You can exit once the menu has finished loading.

Install the latest Exterminatus Alpha
  • If you already have EX alpha, delete it.
  • Run the alpha installer and follow it's instructions.
  • Restart Steam.  You should now see the Exterminatus Alpha listed in your library.

Features
  • Spacehulk map returns, but now it is chaos that have been awakened.  csm_spacehulk has been added.

Tweaks
  • Turrets can now be tagged by Genestealers.
  • Added an audio cue for when a Stealer tags a target.
  • Taggers now received rewards for damage done to their tagged targets.
  • Deployed sporemines now home in on tagged player (needs multiplayer testing).
  • Added and improved lighting on csm_trench.

Chapter Pack of the Week - Blood Angels
New chapter packs continued to prepared for all our favourite chapters.  As with previous packs not all battle cries are replaced, only a couple of new cries are added specific to this chapter.


Just extract the zip file to your ex folder to change your Bloodravens battle bothers to Blood Angels.
More detailed installation instructions can be found on the EX forum thread on the topic.

Balance
  • Reduced the cost of flamer specialists to 50 points.
  • Reduced the cost of meltagun specialists to 75 points.
  • Reduced the cost of plasma specialists to 90 points.
  • Buffed Tagging range from 2250 to 3012.
  • Buffed spore mine launcher spread from 15 degress to 5 degrees.
  • Increased the cost of the sniper rifle from 10 to 25 points
  • Buffed sniper rifle rate of fire from a shot every 2 seconds to a shot every 1.5 seconds.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed tags not rendering on network clients.
  • Fixed a bug where tags would not remove themselves when the tagger no longer had line of sight.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the server to loop if a tagged player was killed.
  • Fixed missing animations on the boltgun view model.

Future Plans
I anticipate some more alphas before I start working on the Version 1 release.  The scouting mechanic is taking longer to tweak than expected due to the need for multiple players for testing.
