The emporer's holy cattleprod? No. I think it's just some random sci-fi tech looking thing, not a weapon you'll find in any rulebook.

Actually, it's a Land Speeder Long-Range Sensor (a bit like an Auspex), generally used by Space marines to check if people up ahead have got a squad of... say, Chaos Havocs, waiting to ambush them.

You'll probably find it's some kind of radar generator, more than likely used to asess the terrain ahead so that the anti-grav systems don't get any nasty suprises.
