Here we go, guys. Chapter 9 is here for reading. Enjoy Cheesy

---

Cassius turned his body slowly. Mordeus was standing in the doorway with a thunder hammer and plasma pistol. His armour was rusting away, however still grey with silver bordering.
"Well," Mordeus began, "Long time no see."
"Indeed," Cassius spoke. "By the way, nice weapons."
Both the plasma pistol and thunder hammer were identical to those used at Orion IV. Cassius couldn't help but to think about the huge banner on top of the mountain that day. He also couldn't help thinking of Severus or the sergeant. The voices were echoing in his head.
"Give me the hammer, Cassius."
"Take it, brother! Use it well!"
"Down!"
"Subject #77-354 will be subject to status as soon as required."
"Shoot the hammerhead!"

The pain that day was unbearable. Cassius needed to control himself though. He was calm for now, but he maty not be so callm for much longer.
"Those weapons were used by veteran sergeant Lausen," Magus spoke. "The markings were on his hammer as trophies over a million campaigns. And the plasma pistol was used to show his wisdom."
"Well then," Mordeus stepped forward towards teh panel, putting the hammer and plasma pistol down on the metal grated floor. "I'm afraid it's too late for you. The Ion Cannon is locked and will fire very, very soon. Oh, you know that Imperial cruiser you called for, Magus?"
"Not him," Cassius said, slowly picking up the hammer. "That was me."
Mordeus felt a tremendous force push him to the controls. Mordeus collapsed as behind him stood Cassius with the thunder hammer. He dropped the hammer and grabbed Mordeus's backpiece.
Mordeus performed a trip on Cassius, but this didn't get anywhere. Cassius reached for the sonic blaster Magus dropped and he hit Mordeus in the face with it. Then he got up, charged the gun and, as Mordeus got up and raised his hand towards Cassius, fired.
Mordeus was sent in to the wall and his backpiece was split.
Cassius dropped the gun and grabbed Mordeus by the chin, then raised his head towards him. "Now, you're going to disable the launch, or you will find yourself in lots and lots of pain."
Mordeus grabbed Cassius's face. Cassius growled in pain for a few seconds before letting go of Mordeus. He fell to the ground. But one thing Mordeus had forgotten was that Magus was in the room, and he now had a cyclic Ion Blaster in his hands.
Magus charged the Ion blaster up and fired at Mordeus.
Mordeus let go of Cassius and was sent straight through the concrete wall. Cassius got up and looked towards the panels. It was displaying 'Warning' in Tau.
Magus got the thunder hammer and plasma pistol, then charged the plasma pistol and fired at Mordeus's torso three times before resorting to cracking his skull with the hammer.
"We got incoming!" Cassius spoke. "Hydra-class Carnifex coming our way."
Magus searched around and found the imperial Power Sword that was lodged in to the Chaos Space marine. He took it and gave it to Cassius.
Cassius took the power sword. He examined it. It had Chaos markings on it. It was either trophies or Chaos diorama. It didn't really matter. He ran out of the control room with Magus.

Above, a cruiser opened a front hatch. It displayed tens of tthousands of Thunderhawks. One by one, the thunderhawks launched themselves towards the planet below, Kronos IX.
The first three thunderhawks landed. In the first one was Inquisitor Lucius, Captain Tereus and Captain Severus.
The second one had Marneus Calgar in his Terminator Armour. By his side he had his Honour Guard, Chaplain Cassius and Chief Librarian Tigurius.
The third thunderhawk had Captain Sicarius, surrounded by two Tactical squads and a Command squad.
Almost every main chapter in the whole of the Imperium was standing on the planet. Marshall Sethis was even there with his power sword and artificer armour. He had three other Castellans with him and High Marshall Helbrecht at the front.
How many more chapters could there be?

Magus climbed a set of steps. Cassius followed and immediately spotted a Lictor above them. Magus drew his bolt pistol and fired at the Lictor multiple times to hold it back. Cassius took the advantage to slice its head off.
The area was surrounded by crushed buildings. Cassius took off the Chaos armour and found his Power armour standing by. He quickly put it on, fast as he could.
"Go," Magus spoke. "I'll send them off."
Cassius was furious inside, but still remained calm. "You're not leaving," he said. "This is exactly what my Sergeant did to me, and I'm not having it happen to me again."
"Just run, Cassius. I'm going to die anyways, and there's nothing either of us can do."
"Yes there is. You can follow your orders."
"What orders? There are no orders anymore. We've finished our mission, now we need to get off. Just tell Severus that I died in battle. Now go!"
Cassius was standing there. Four carnifexes were behind him and ready to kill the two Space marines.
"Go!"
The wall explodedn and Marneus Calgar, along with the Honour Guard, Chaplain and Librarian, began shooting their weapons.
Cassius ran for it and threw the power sword back to Magus. Magus caught it and ran towards the carnifexes.
They'd never meet again.

Feel free to comment. Note about the huge armada: I thought I might add all the chapters because of what happened in Chapter 7.

Two more chapters are waiting to be done: Chapter 10 and the Epilogue. Hmm... I wonder what happens next episode. Since I'm nice, I'll give you a preview.
Chaplain Cassius takes on a Winged Hive Tyrant with five other Tyranid Hunters... Calgar sacrifices two squads to try and kill a Trygon and Cassius attempts to stop the Ion Cannon destroying an imperial planet. Do they succeed...?

Good writing once again.

I liked the action-movie feeling of the battle with Mordeus, though I'd maybe thought him as a bit more strong opponent. I also like the idea of having a lot of the known 40k special characthers in the story though it might be a bit against the fluff have such a huge amount of marines on a single planet at one time.

By your preview I think the next chapter sounds at least ambitious. Good luck with writing that all properly.
