las pistol?

are you guys going to make a las pistol for the imperial guard?

as answered in another post elsewhere no were not.

The imperial Guard are not a playable class and will be spening most of there time being eaten, dismembered and used as human shields by the Space Marine players.

As such a laspistol would be totaly useless.

its more down to usefulness and the intended role of the IG.

there not supposed to be playable and are currently intended as NPCs invoved in fighting within the city.

Bit like the rebels you see in hl2's single player game but more organised.

No point giving them as las pistol as its not going to be much use as these are supposed to be stock PGF troopers/IG of the planet and are really there for just scenery decor.

Also a las pistol could only give a nid a mild burn while boltpistols blow em appart in 1-2 hits.

Well, some PDF Sargeants armed with chainswords and laspistols would be cool, just for laughs watching them try and assault a wall of Hormagaunts...

pointless. in fact most imperial guardsmen sargents are more likely to be given a steel blade or sword. or something officer like. if i was a sargent i would rather have a lasrifle or autogun , even a shotgun would be good.

i would not want a sword and pistol if i was a bog standard imperial gaurdsman sargent. i would want to blow my foe away with projectile weaponry

thye IG will be unplayable, giving them anything more than they need is at this time a waste.

should that change they will be equipped and tooled up, but right now a las gun is all thats required
