Simple question, so out of curiosity what do you the public think we should do.

Answers in a Forum post in this topic, with your reasons!

*EDIT*
In the end there was no choise at all and we ran out of time. Everything has gone silent, there is sadly nothign we can do about it.

Alright, after a lengthy brain storming session over this issue I've finally decided to go ahead and said yes, I think you should open the Beta to the public.

My reasons for this are quite simply productivity.  You can go silent but this may not necessarily mean that you are going to achieve as much as you would if you got vital game play feedback from a whole load of gamers.  A mass Beta release would reveal all sorts of problems and possibly even suggestions, such as map errors, balance issues, model bugs, weapon problem and the like.  As well as this making EX a more known mod, because currently it is hiding in the lofty archives of Terra, would attract a great deal more attention and this would not only mean gamers, but people who are willing to model, map and possibly even code for you!

Furthermore a period of silence could deter much activity and even rob yourselves, Emperor forbidding, of the will and appetite to continue with the perfection of this mod.  However if you come back to plenty of healthy feed back then you have something to get right to work on, instead of having to locate the game issues yourself with many more, small scale Beta tests and then go on to the process of correcting them.  An outside word could be very good for this mod and veteran gamers aren't just good at fragging people but they also excel at noticing the traits of a good game and also the flaws.

So, in my opinion, yes, you should release the mod in the form of a public Beta.  Smiley

I think the beta option is a bad idea for 2 reasons, 1: People might dislike the mod for known reasons, 2: the testers (people) might be bitchy bout the feedback they give and could cause some probs for the mod since its not getting CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. null vote for now.... gotta make up my mind.

Releasing to the public will get you coverage, more fans, and possibly more support. Also you will get more feedback, and most all feedback is useful whether is be bad or good. You'll probably also find bugs faster.

In my opinion, people that see the potential of the mod may join the team and thus allow more contributions in the means of maps and ideas. I know that a similar outcome came for Zombie Panic: Source, so why not this mod too?

Hopefully these results will have an influence on the decision made.  Smiley

I voted to have the beta open, and we all know why. We want to get our hands on it, to play it, help make it better, and to win.

I would vote for releasing a public beta one becuase i want to play it Cheesy and becuase i know many other people do btw the sooner the mod is out the more players will be attracted to it. Hell, mebby u find another coder? still you would (like many others have said) get vital feedback if the mod is really inadequate to release right now then just keep developing but more people will play it in the long run the sooner you release.

For the record, mostly as i forgot to update this, were running silent for various reasons.
