ouch, I hope their points cost reflects their new owy armoury.

They can give vespids any weapon they like, only the harccore tau nerds will buy those crappy "power ranger wannabe" minis.

well tau are sickining, i test played my mechanized assalt tau army today,

12 warriors with carbines
12 warriors with carbines
12 warriors with rifles
12 warriors with rifles

all in devilfishis

1 standard hammerhead gunship
railgun a smart missiles

the battle terrane was dence

i was up against really stubbon dark angels

ok the carbine units did very well. range 18 assalt weapons rock.
the rifles whernt so good, far to static

devilfishis did well keeping my firewarriors away from combat and the hammerhead moved slowely up to the enemy line making cool and different firepoints every turn, taking out terminators with the smart missiles and tanks with the railgun.

i made a couple mistakes with the devilfish and tau carbines movemnent and dienbarked them too near a unit with a chaplin in it, that was messy. and the DA decided to corner one iof my devil fishes whilst the rest of my army decided to set up on his side of the battlefeild whilst i was trying to get the cornersd devilfish out of the corner and back to the main army..

the battle carried on, the marnes walking accrose the battlefeild a couple of times. up down left right etc etc.

i ahve the ultimate anti assalt tau army.

i now only fear bikes and assalt troopers. oh well where are my Lance mk battlesuits (plasma, melta, sheild, multi combo)

Agreed. But tell you what, DE hate Heavy Bolters. Those lovely guns can rip through their infantry, and scare Raiders and Ravagers via weight of fire, gotta roll 6's sometime... throw in some Autocannons when vsing DE and you're guaranteed to splatter his transports. Yes, they're flying cardboard boxes, but having two shots means that you're less likely to be frustrated by bad rolls.

i still don't get why you should equip your fire warriors with carbines, but then again i don't know what the pinning test is (i also don't collect tau, i have to build and paint my little bro's army)
