well here is the first battle beetween me (chaos) and a imperial fleet

there will be one section a week. probably 2 or 3 battles at a time

Welcome to the Galatan campaign newsletter where reports on recent games and updates on the overall sector.

Ready Steady Go

The forces of the Emperor entered Galatan form the galactic south west. Currently there are two
Imperial fleets stationed at Etam and Amessk, moving quickly in sector to capture the core systems.

There are also two Chaos fleets active at this time entering the sector from galactic southwest and
southeast, perhaps in a giant pincer move? Already the planets Kobol and Echion have fallen to them.

In the galactic northeast several Tyanid hive fleets have swept into the sector with all contact lost
from Amos and Hyneria.

Necron forces have been sighted in the Chara system once an HQ for space marines that saved the sector
100 years ago, are the necrons out destroy all the marines good work?

All roads lead to Galatan

The first game of the campaign was a full fleet action between Imperial forces under Commander Vern and
a Chaos war fleet under Baal Decimus.

The forces met on the edge of the Galatan system, between the rogue gas giant Vegas Lament and the Mobious
Warp rift. The first phase of the fighting saw both fleets trying to get the tactical advantage on each other with Chaos cruisers forming a tight wedge and the imperials splitting into several groups.

First blood went to Chaos as a cobra squadron was badly mauled by the wedge but luckily disengaged after
Several ships were lost. Longe range effective nova cannon fire then reduced the cruiser Infardi to a battered hulk, a bulkhead collapse killing most of the crew and destroying its main galleries. Imperial forces used the confusion caused by the Infardi's death throes to concentrate fire on the enemy escorts and outlying cruisers, causing heavy damage on the capital ships as well as destroying all Chaos escorts. Baal's forces promptly disengaged leaving Commander Vern the prize of the sector capital.

EDIT:

this is the gelactic map of the system

Nice thing. Sharing battle reports is a good way to develop the community.  Cheesy

The galactic map is too small, I can't read any of the text. It would be nice to have a graphic view on the fleet movements in addition to the descriptive text.
