This sounds great, i can try that server seeding, but would need to be instant messaged to get me back in the game. I'm gonna redownload it and starting tomorrow sit in the server as long as it takes to get people in there. if any of you see this and want to play, my screen name is NeoviperJP, thats on AIM by the way. I have never actually never played a rival species game with more than me in it just messing about.

well, on the tabletop about half of the people who play 40k play space marines. unfortunately they are one of the less varied races, comparatively. although they have quite a lot of possibility as a simple fight the enemy race. tyranids seem like they'll be the team everyone's going for at this point, what with being stronger than marines 1 on 1 and having spawns to run around with. but overall a first person 40k game is awesome simply on the premise that you get down right into the action instead of rolling a bunch of dice.

more races at SOME point would be good. not necessarily before the mod finishes, or even soon after it finishes. when the game is balanced, there should at least be a poll for a new race.

This is only a small dash of fanboyism here, but orks a pretty unique race, extreme close combat, bad range, but relatively tough. its kind of similar to tyranids, but instead of the well greased CC machine the tyranids seem to make, orks are a bit more of a get in there with enough players, and no gigantic things like carnifex's. i think that could reflect into this game well if there was the same followbot kind of thing that was in rs1, but with a limit higher than one per spawn.

Just for the record, this is all opinion, and not even valid opinion at that. right now all thats gonna be going in has been confirmed as marines and tyranids.

I know full well that you have stated your intentions of keeping this mod to only marines and tyranids, but perhaps after you get this game balanced, there could be a whole seperate mod with more races? this could be just a fun game, or a serious project. as long as i get me some orkses in source im happy Smiley

But seriously, im not talking in even the near future, im just talking about a possible project so i have something closer to first person 40k to look forward to. since gw botched it and decided to make fantasy warhammer into the MMO, i've got nothin but this. Thanks for listening, keep it up with the rendering, its looking very awesome.

Seeing as how this topic is going a bit off, i'll suggest something.

Most people think the nids are going to be imbalanced because they're better than marines and they get gaunts. so maybe you only get gaunts as a warrior, and when you upgrade to carnifex or zoanthrope, you have to stay by yourself or with a warrior with some gaunts. im thinking this would balance because the carnifex would have massive armor, making him not need gaunts for protection. and the zoanthrope will normally be using ranged weapons and not need a gaunt shield. as for the normal warriors, if the warrior at a decent skill level would be able to take on two marines at once, with 2 or three distraction nids, then it should balance out.

On the marine side, giving them points for being in a group would be making it very similar to NS combat. not exactly the same but not sticking to the unique genre style you guys have going. lots of points for kills, and points for damaging sounds good, although you would have to give less for a gaunt than a player controlled warrior. to balance out the noob factor, maybe have a exclusivly upward curce, where if you dont get kills for a certain amount of time, then the damage you do gives you more points.

This is my first post so im just trying to contribute, i apologize if im breaking any rules, or if these suggestions wouldnt work for some reason or anyother.

Ok, just wanted to say this mod is looking great in just about every way i can think of, just go with synapse and it cant go wrong given a little playtesting and balancing.
