Please use Map Development kit for all testing (it works and has the biggest class from each side useable).

Its basically a severly cut down version of the mod, simply install it to your sourcemods folder and restart steam.

Then set up a profile for it in hammer editor, see the documentation on the exact way fo doing this.

Read the documentation supplied in the wiki as to how to make everything work, Ex is set up as a team game and adding objectives is fairly easy via the "mission" entity. TO get started i recomend using the mission entities controlled by a series of button.

You will find in the MDK a few maps you can open in hammer created as a way to show how this works on a fundimental level. Try using them as a base.

but to summerise, we do not give out copies of the actual mod without proof that a person is committed to assisting us in the long term. In the case of mapping it would require the submission of a map that the Development team would consider High Quality or several maps that we would consider Good Quality. In addition to this we woudl need certain assuraces relating to our content and continued assistance with whatever field your good at.

The FAQ. details how to join the Development Team, which is the only current way to gain any kind of access to the actual Mod. It is possable, as several people on this forum will testament too, Darkwulf produced several models that are now used in the game to become a dev team member.

Well my hammer is broken now i was making a really good map too.

But is there anything else I cpuld do to help, I really want to. Maybe make pics and graphics. I am very good in photoshop.

I could make your a menu background.

I just thought of something... I love doing this and am really good at it. COULD I MAKE TRAILERS AND STUFF FOR PROMOTING IT!!! I have a profesinal video editing program. Please think about this.

We already have a Video & Image capture team in place being lead by Chaplain Kharn, but thanks for the offer.

Also we currently have several alternate backgrounds were looking at, although currently the oen you see is winning in the poll.

Sorry, but the main areas were needing assistance with are Animation, Modeling and Mapping. Yiouy have a lot of Enthusisum which we like so Keep tryign with the map, you may want to check out the tutorials ont he valve pages and the one chrome created to assist mappers for Ex. Also we can answer any questions or querys you have to help you. What exactly is wrong with your hammer? i recently had a bug with mine when it updated to the new SDK and it was unuseable.

It takes a fair bit of dedication to get onto our team, you have to be in it for the long haul. I woudl love to be able to let anyone play the mod, and at some point i will when we release it. untill then its still a work in progress with many rough edges and problems. Untill a lot of this is cleaned up we have to keep control over it, so we cannot give it out to just anyone.

a good idea, bunker or space hulk style tunnel fights would make a good map.

In another thread, someone mentioned the problem of enclosed Space Hulk fighting and the size of Tyranids. Perhaps the majority, or part of the fighting, could be conducted in the gun bays of a vessel. From what I have seen in White Dwarf, they are essentially cavernous places, with cannon on either side, much like the deck of an old sailing ship, but bigger. This would allow larger Tyranids to fight, as well as smaller ones in the corridors.
